JOB PURPOSE

The Janitor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the plant to maintain a clean and safe working environment. This position requires excellent time management skills, as the responsibilities include both routine cleaning and additional unanticipated tasks. The Janitor will work in conjunction with the maintenance personnel as the need arises. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean the chips out of the machinery and ensures that any trays of oil are drained.
• Cleans and maintains parts washer; replaces washing fluid on regular basis.
• Cleans the plant floor and the production equipment as per schedule.
• Empties any necessary garbage in the plant.
• Replaces coolant and trimming equipment, NES and kotlenbochs
• Responsible for the collection, separation, and of recycling and ensuring that recycling areas are in clean condition at all times.
• Responsible for waste water storage
• Responsible for maintaining the inventory of Janitor supplies and bringing forward any shortages to the supervisor for re-ordering.
• Responsible to ensure that all walkways and stairs are clear of snow and ice.
• Assist in the cleanup of any spills as required.
• Performs facility janitorial duties and miscellaneous duties assigned by the Production Supervisor.
• Follow proper Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
• Operate floor scrubber machine

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is an asset.
• Ability to lift 20lbs and perform repetitive movements.
• Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Extremely detail-oriented.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt to new situations/problems.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
