Maintenance Technician with strong mechanical knowledge in an auto manufacturing industry and ability to read & understand logic.
Main Purpose of Job:
To perform both routine and preventative maintenance to plant and equipment to ensure that good quality parts, maximum up time and efficiency are achieved at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure that all equipment in your designated primary cell(s) is kept in good working order to produce good quality parts with maximum up time and efficiency.
· Ensure that all work orders and tasks allocated to you by your supervisor(s) are completed successfully and in an efficient manner.
· Complete all preventative maintenance procedures in your designated primary work cell(s) in accordance with the relevant preventative maintenance schedule(s).
· Ensure that pre-determined inventory levels are maintained either on the line or in the tool crib for all identified perishable tools required in your primary work cell(s).
· May be required to ensure that all tooling for your primary line is identified, kept in good working condition and stored as appropriate.
· May be required to assist manufacturing in setting up production intent tools.
· Well versed in equipment movement and relocation within the plant.
GENERAL:
Complete all administrative tasks as required.
Proactively participate in company-wide continuous improvement activities.
Work diligently to constantly reduce the possibility of manufacturing non-conforming products.
Ensure that all employees work in accordance with all safety regulations and consider the safety of other personnel of utmost importance at all times.
Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures at all times.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Maintenance Lead and dotted line to the Production Supervisor.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent must exhibit skills in one or more of the following areas:
· Previous experience in general maintenance of plant and equipment
· Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting
· Knowledge of pneumatic systems and troubleshooting
· Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting
· Knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting
Attendance:
This position requires full-time attendance.
Travel:
To fulfill the responsibilities of this position you may be required to drive and/or fly to the location of a customer or a supplier and/or attend training as required.
Agility/Physical Requirements:
This position requires maneuvering and lifting of equipment such as tools and machinery and in process production products up to 30 pounds. Standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, walking, climbing and repetitive movements of the upper extremities such as hands and wrists are essential functions of the position.
Work Environment:
This position will be assigned to the manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment includes loud machinery, fluctuating temperatures, concrete or cement floors, oils and coolants. Many production lines work in a team orientated environment.
