Assist the shift supervisor in coordinating the activities of the production associates. Assigns duties by production priorities and work availability. Manages and provides leadership to area production associates to achieve good quality products that meet the prevailing production schedule(s) and the requirements of both internal and external customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage, motivate and deploy employees to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.

· Become well versed in production MRP system for production reporting and reconciliation for accuracy.

· Ensure that materials are available to maintain maximum production efficiency.

· Ensure that all training needs are being met and documentation is provided to show competence of the operator.

· Ensure that all manufactured product meets both internal and customer specifications.

· Perform first and last piece preparation for all parts produced in assigned work area.

· Ensure that parts are final audited and documentation is correct prior to shipment.

· Ensure that production associates comply with the company safety policies and rules at all times.

· Perform all duties of the production supervisor in his/her absence.

GENERAL:

· Complete all administrative tasks as required.

· Pro-actively participate in company-wide continuous improvement activities.

· Work diligently to constantly reduce the possibility of manufacturing non-conforming products.

· Insure that all employees work in accordance with all safety regulations and consider the safety of other personnel of utmost importance at all times.

· Work in accordance and support company policies and procedures at all times.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports directly to the Division Manager. This position assist in supervising production associates and daily interaction with the support staff and management as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Fully trained in company policies and procedures

Proven ability to operate all equipment in assigned cells

Fully trained in the use of quality measuring tools and gages

Proven ability to perform minor repairs and changeovers on equipment

Attend a leadership and annual training course approved by management

Attendance:

This position requires fulltime attendance. Must maintain an attendance standard of 2 points or less at all times.

Travel:

To fulfill the responsibility of this position you may be required to drive/or fly to locations of a customer or supplier and/or attend training as required. Overnight stays may be required.

Agility/Physical Requirements:

This position requires maneuvering and lifting of equipment such as, tools and machinery and in process production products up to 30 pounds. Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per day as well as walking and climbing. Repetitive movements of the upper extremities such as hands and wrists are essential functions of the position.

Work Environment:

This position will be assigned to the manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment may include loud machinery, fluctuating temperatures, concrete or cement floors, oils and coolants. Many production lines work in a team orientated environment.
