DRC-Tech Specialist 3 (Cyber Security Engineer)

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer (DRC-Tech Specialist 3) to support onsite security operations for a public-sector environment in Central Ohio.

Role Overview

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect organizational systems, networks, and data. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with network security, incident response, vulnerability management, and remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, and monitor security measures across systems and networks
• Respond to system and network security incidents
• Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scans across servers, networks, and endpoints
• Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation based on risk
• Partner with IT and application teams to coordinate remediation and verify fixes
• Tune vulnerability scans to reduce false positives
• Develop vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports
• Identify and document vulnerabilities and remediation efforts
• Support patch management and security best practices

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in:
  • Network security and threat detection
  • Incident response and vulnerability management
  • Administering Qualys
  • Remediation documentation and patch management processes
• Must be currently located within the State of Ohio
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (4-year college degree)
• CISSP certification
