Job Description

Studenttimes Staffing Solutions is a professional recruitment agency that specializes in providing permanent, temporary, and contractual staffing solutions, for both full-time jobs and part-time job. Offices in Mississauga | Brantford | Cambridge – Ontario, Canada.

The Human Resource and accounting Generalist runs the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices and also ensures finance and accounting activities are accurate, timely, and in compliance with all generally accepted accounting principles.

Human Resources Administration tasks:

  • Support recruiting of new employees (including prep-work of job advertisements, job interviews and employment contracts)
  • Onboarding & induction of new employees (including coordination of initial training for new employees)
  • Organizing internal and external training programs
  • Participate in Employer Branding activities like ‘Great Place to Work’ certification
  • Promoting and being an ambassador for social and harmonious working environment
  • Adept in conflict resolution management; participate in conflict resolution meetings, prepare draft minutes for record on employee files
  • Consulting activities and ongoing support for employees and managers
  • Employee data management on the Fronius HR Management platform – knowledge of ‘Workday’ an asset
  • Contact person for governmental and/or other authorities regarding HR related issues
  • Ensuring compliance with Provincial and Federal employment laws
  • Close communication and cooperation with HR International team at the Fronius headquarter in Austria

Accounting tasks:

  • Monitor daily deposits made into and payments made from company’s bank accounts
  • Prepare deposit report of customer receipts
  • Vendor and statutory payments
  • Create and maintain customer accounts in the ERP system
  • Perform credit risk due diligence
  • Create and maintain vendor accounts in the ERP system
  • Record vendor invoices in the ERP system

Skills and Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with major in Accounting and Human Resource Management
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of employment laws
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves, work in a team or individually
  • Proficient oral and written English (knowledge of German or French an advantage)
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and external parties
  • Prior exposure to an ERP system an advantage
  • Willingness to learn new systems
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
