- Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
- Inspect and maintain machinery and equipment.
- Advise Shop Forman when procurement of products, equipment and consumables as require.
- Read work order, maintain delivery date and schedules.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
- Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions, faulty operation and or defective material can be detected, and notify supervisor of any malfunctions.
- Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.
- Stop machines to remove finished workpieces, or to change tools, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required sequences.
- Modify drilling programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.
- Calculate machine speed and feed ratios.
- Insert control instruction into the machine control units to start operation.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with drawing and fabrication specifications.
- Attach slings, ropes, and cables to objects such as pipes, beams, angles, and flat bar.
- Know and identify weld symbols.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1 year relevant machine operation experience.
- Forklift Experience, ability to obtain certification.
- Overhead Crane Experience, ability to obtain certification.
- Manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail.
Schedule- Monday to Friday (Day Shifts)
Pay rate – $22-$28 per hour |
