Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
Studenttimes Staffing Solutions is a professional recruitment agency that specializes in providing permanent, temporary, and contractual staffing solutions, for both full-time jobs and part-time job. Offices in Mississauga | Brantford | Cambridge – Ontario, Canada.
Maintenance mechanics perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting and check system functionality by running diagnostic tests. They also use power and hand tools (e.g. hosts and cranes) to install new systems and replace defective parts.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant & processing equipment
- Install new equipment and maintain existing equipment based on OEM manual
- Read and follow maintenance procedures for instrumentation equipment
- Work with outside contractors and Inspectors
- Read and interpret Diagrams, blueprints and drawings
- Respond to emergency equipment failures
- Perform Facility maintenance assignments as required
- Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and Applicable Codes
- Maintain good working relationship with all coworkers, contractors and customers
- Housekeeping to maintain a safe work environment
- Work in an outdoor environment
- Available to work overtime on short notice and as scheduled
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
- Experience in the industrial, Petro chemical environment would be an asset
- Pump experience is an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required
- Ability to work under pressure and in an outdoor environment is required
- General computer skills, MS Outlook email, Excel, Word would be an asset
- Valid Drivers License, Forklift, EWP, Welding, Confined Space and Supervision all skills listed here are considered an asset.
